USCIS Expands Credit Card Payment to All Service Centers

USCIS has announced on March 2 that it has expanded credit card payments to all services center applications, except for Form I-129 applications for H-1B and H-2A applications. Currently, USCIS accepts filing fees for all applications in checks, money orders, and cashier’s checks. They are working on expanding credit card payments for all applications. USCIS requires that all fees are paid in USD and the payment method must be issued from a US bank. Credit card payments do not incur additional costs.

USCIS is currently piloting this credit card program, they will evaluate the results at the end of the pilot if this should be expanded for all forms. Applicants interested in paying for the fee must fill out their credit card information on the form G-1450 and submit it with the application. The amount and all information on the form must be correct. USCIS will attempt to charge the card once, if for any reason the card is declined, USCIS will not try again and the application will be rejected for failure to pay filing fees. For this reason, it is recommended that filing fees are paid for using checks, money orders, or cashier’s checks instead.
