What is an E-1 Visa Trade Spreadsheet?

When applying for an E-1 visa, you will have to submit evidence showing that the trade between your country and the U.S. is already in existence. Generally, you should submit evidence of trade for the 3 most recent years. We usually submit a trade spreadsheet that summarizes all the important information about your trade with the U.S.

E-1 visa is a great visa for treaty traders who engage in international trade between the U.S. and their home treaty country. To qualify for an E-1 visa, you must be a citizen of a country that signed a qualifying treaty with the U.S. Please see the list of countries that qualify for an E-1 visa here.

What is an E-1 visa trade spreadsheet?

As mentioned above, as a rule of thumb, we generally submit evidence of the past 3 years, but you should check the website of the Consulate where you will be applying for an E1 visa for specific information. The trade spreadsheet should contain information such as names of your client, the invoice number, invoice dates, product description (what is the amount of the trade), and the trade amount. Additionally, you would also want to specify what amount of your international trade is between you and the U.S. (at least 50% of your international trade must be with the U.S.).

Please click here to see what documents you should submit to prove that there is an ongoing trade with the U.S.

Please see a sample spreadsheet below:

Client Name Invoice number Invoice Date Date invoice paid Item/Product description Amount Currency
Client Name A USD
Client Name B USD
Client Name C USD
Client Name D USD
Client Name E USD
Client Name F USD
