My husband had started to buy properties since 2015 and rent some of them out. Last year, he started a renovation business transferring 4 of our properties to the company. The business was real, he has a full time employee and he’s been working with contractors. He renovate 2 of them and sold them out. He made profit and he paid tax. But, a few days ago his E2 visa application was denied. The officer said that he already had those 4 properties so it’s not an initial investment. She also claimed that documents of the business plan were not submitted to the consulate. But the lawyer said that they received. Do you think that existing properties cannot be used in a new business to apply for E2 visa?

Hi,
I see that you had one of your clients approved for an E2 visa for a home renovation business and would like to do the same. I would need to buy tools and equipment and a truck. My estimated cost would be around $50,000 for them. Would that be enough for a strong application and if not what else would you recommend me spending money on?
